Happy Holidays, Farmers!

‘Tis the season to be with families and enjoy a little down-time, so Funk Town Farm will be on “holiday” until New Year, since all of our regular workday shift leaders are away.

While the garden is in its season of rest, we might as well be, too!

I’m telling you, folks, this stuff is pure gold!  From a backyard bee keeper with some truly gifted bees.

We are currently sold out of vegetables.  If you are a pickler or preserver of veggies, please consider donating to our pop up stand!

We need to raise $200 for our new compost system, which provides green waste disposal to neighborhood families as well as rich compost for Funk Town and other gardens.

and, if you rely on funk town composting for your green waste, can’t make it this weekend or simply have a really good time preparing the space and want to keep on keeping on with this project…

please consider coming to help out on saturday, november 19th!  we will be building new compost bins outside the coop. this will give you safer, easier access to the compost, allow for easier compost maintenance and turning, and spare our chickens the caffeine high they’ve been getting from the coffee grounds.

Come help us harvest all the shiny red tomatoes on the vine, clean up and prep for winter beds!

Hello Farmers!

Saturday’s (yep, that’s today) work day is on! 10am to 2pm, with beds being prepped for fall plantings and lots of juicy tomatoes to harvest. Plenty to do and plenty to take home, so bring a friend.

We have an exciting day planned tomorrow at Funk Town Farm.

Many chicken sponsors will be at the garden cleaning out the coop, and they could use your help.

Or, if you’d rather, come spend some time weeding, planting starts or staking our beautiful tomatoes.  Your help would be much appreciated!!
