Funk Town Farm Blog

The chickens at Funktown Farm are raised by volunteers who want to learn more about them and also 10% of the chickens are available for sponsorship. If you sponsor a chicken you collect your share of eggs each week and share in the chicken chores. The fee for chicken sponsorship is low for organic, free range eggs. Please inquire is interested.

90% of the chicken’s eggs will be given to low income families/individuals by Cross Streets Ministry on Sunday mornings. These chickens need sponsors too. We call this kind of sponsorship “donation-sponsorship” If you are interested in sponsoring a chicken for this purpose or the purpose above please email

Hi Daphne,

So good to meet you today and to sit a minute at the farm.

I’d love to be on the waiting list for chicken sponsorship and look forward to meeting the rest of the Funk Town Farm community!

With thanks,

What does sponsoring a chicken consist of?

Comment by Tracy

Hi Tracy!

Sponsering a chicken consists of doing chicken chores (1xper week feeding and or occasional coop cleaning), paying a one time fee of 20.00 and the 6.50 per month after that for feed. Each sponsor gets about 6 eggs per week. Please email the current Chicken Manager, Elizabeth at if you would like to be put on the waiting list. She can also answer any more questions you may have.
